Position: Mechanical Engineer

Registration: Mechanical Engineering registration preferred.

Experience: This position requires Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering or similar, and 5 or more years commercial/industrial/medical engineering consulting or design experience with a solid understanding of all major MEP systems.

B&H is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. We provide design for industrial, municipal, education, commercial and medical projects. This position requires project management responsibilities including planning, executing, reviewing, and finalizing projects according to deadlines and within budget. The position is also responsible for mentoring junior level staff as well as Mechanical engineering through each step of a project. You will do well here if you enjoy working on various projects in a relaxed, inviting environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar
• 5-10 years commercial/industrial/medical engineering consulting or design experience with a solid understanding of all major MEP systems
• Demonstrated design experience for buildings with respect to working in an MEP or AE design firm environment.
• P.E. in mechanical engineering 
• MEP Design experience highly preferred

Job Duties, Skills, and Accountabilities

• Prepare and review technical drawings and specifications in compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Coordination and oversight of floor plans, site plans, and other drawings for complex structure preparations.
• System design, sizing, layout, component selection for systems, plumbing, and HVAC design.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong team skills and ensure relationships are developed.
• Must be comfortable with interfacing directly with Clients.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
• Ability to effectively present information.
• Produce high quality deliverables (reports and spreadsheets) with limited QC review.
• Ability to be a team player a to deliver on commitments of work within scope, schedule and budget.
• Ability to communicate and represent B&H Engineers to clients about its services.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
• Able to provide interoffice execution leadership and support.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team including strong technical writing skills for preparing reports and documentation.

Position: Registered Communications Distrbution Designer (RCDD)

Requirements for this position include:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited university
• Holds a BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certification
• Registered as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering a plus
• Works well independently and within a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to learn
• Dedicated to quality

• Understands success comes through a commitment to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with others
• Participate in job site walks
• Attend client and user meetings
• Set up floor plan backgrounds in CAD and Revit

• Design infrastructure, camera, door access, wireless, and nurse call systems
• Create data room layouts including racks and cable tray
• Size conduit
• Coordinate with utility companies
• Layout data drops and access points
• Show cable types
• Set up floor plan backgrounds in CAD and Revit
• Coordinate with architectural elevations, MEP, and civil disciplines
